The Greek word anatello

Found in nine New Testament passages (Mt. 4:16; 5:45; 13:6; Mk. 4:6; 16:2; 16:2; Lk. 12:54; Heb. 7:14; Jas. 1:11; 2 Pet. 1:19), the Greek verb “anatello” meant “spring up” or “rise.”

In most of the places where this term is used (Mt. 4:16; 5:45; 13:6; Mk. 4:6; 16:2; Jas. 1:11; 2 Pet. 1:19), this verb describes the “springing up” of light/the rising of the sun.  In Heb. 7:14 this word is used to say Jesus came from the tribe of Judah.
