The Greek word aneleos

Found just once in the New Testament (Jas. 2:13) and a variant spelling of the adverb “aneilos,” the Greek adjective “aneleos” meant “without mercy” or “merciless.”

James said:  For judgment is without mercy to him that hath showed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment.

God is merciful to us, so we are obligated to be merciful to others.
