The Greek word “achreios”

Found just twice in the New Testament (Mt. 25:30; Lk. 17:10), the Greek adjective “achreios” meant “unprofitable,” “useless,” “good for nothing.”

Jesus described a servant who hid his talent in the ground instead of using as an “unprofitable” servant. We can put forth our best efforts to serve God, but in the end we will still be an “unprofitable” servant (Lk. 17:10).
