The Greek verb “εἰσακούω”

Limited to Mt. 6:7; Lk. 1:13; Acts 10:31; 1 Cor. 14:21; Heb. 5:7, the Greek verb “eisakouo” meant “hear,” “hear and obey,” “listen to.”  Jesus knew some believed they would be “heard” for their “much speaking” (Mt. 6:7).  God “hears” the prayers of His people (Lk. 1:13; Heb. 5:7), as well as those seeking Him (Acts 10:31).  Not all are willing to “hear” God, especially when true hearing involves obedience (1 Cor. 14:21).
