Do you know that the Bible refers to an anchor?  The noun ankura describes an “anchor.”  This term is found just four times in the New Testament and three of these places are in the book of Acts 27 (see Acts 27:29, 30, 40).  These three passages each talk about the “anchor” of a ship.

  The fourth and final place where this term occurs in the New Testament is Heb. 6:19; the Hebrew writer said the saved have an “anchor” for the soul.
