What does the Greek word batos (masculine gender) mean?

When used in the feminine gender, the Greek word “batos” describes a shrub or thorn-bush as discussed in the preceding study.

When used in the masculine gender, this “loanword from Hebrew” (Exegetical Dictionary of the New Testament, 1:209) means “bath,” a liquid measure equivalent to approximately 22 liters, about 6 gallons, or one-tenth of a homer. The only occurrence of “batos” in the masculine gender is Lk. 16:6.
