NorthStar Technologies is an Oklahoma based collection agency, though its representatives do not need to live in Oklahoma. NorthStar specializes in collecting "bounced" checks for businesses throughout the United States. It can also work most other debt problems for large and small companies.
A NorthStar rep creates his or her own client base for this collection agency, and this can be done with any U.S. company. The size and location of companies do not matter. NorthStar's collection service for bad checks is very attractive to businesses because it is completely free and because it pays businesses an additional bad check "rebate" on each collected NSF check from the state bad check fee (i.e. NorthStar's check recovery service is paid for by bad check writers).

NorthStar takes new reps through an on-line training session and then reps are ready to begin working with merchants. NorthStar is not hard work, but it is work. It is also something that requires a bit of patience as you are establishing a client base. Is this some type of MLM?
No. NorthStar is a bad check collection service that is completely free to businesses. It makes its profit off bad check writers and it would be your job to literally give away this service to businesses at no cost to them.
Are there any hidden costs for NorthStar's representatives? Do I buy my way in?
No; you pay nothing to be
a check recovery agent.
What are the job requirements for this position?
Patience, self-motivation, good people and
organizational skills (a college degree is not required).
Excellent customer service is a must with
NorthStar. You will also need a computer and regular
Internet access. If you are looking for a "get rich quick
scheme," NorthStar will not be the right choice for you.
How would I find potential clients?
Start with your local area.
Pizza shops, mom and pop stores, and convenience stores
are all good locations to begin.
Almost every doctor's office receives bad checks.
Check with your local vets as well.
Are their competitors in the check
recovery business?
Yes. This is a
competitive industry because it is a rich source of income, but
there is plenty of business for all.
Millions of businesses take checks--some estimates put the
number at 20 million. Prospective clients are in just
about every section of the United States (where you find people
you usually find bounced checks). Too,
NorthStar's free check recovery is so good businesses
sometimes leave their current check recovery service to sign up with NorthStar.
Must I create a web site or will the company give me a web site? NO is the answer to both questions. NorthStar has a professional web site suitable for all prospective clients and NorthStar supplies representatives with an appropriate e-mail address.
How much is the pay? This depends upon how many bad checks are submitted by your clients. Each representative receives a portion of the state bad check fee on each collected check.
How long before I get a
paycheck? This depends upon you. It would be your job to
find and sign clients for NorthStar.
NorthStar collects on these accounts and then representatives
are paid twice per month.
1. Find 25 businesses in your community that take checks (your list should involve local stores, not national chains).
2. Let at least ten of these places know you are thinking about becoming a collection agency rep and ask the owner/manager if you could come back at a later time and talk to him/her about a free bounced check recovery service if you become a representative.
