The Greek word adikia

The noun “adikia” describes “wickedness” or “wrongdoing.” This term occurs about 25 times in the New Testament and one of the key verses that uses this word is Rom. 1:29 (people can be “filled” with adikia). In Rom. 1:18 Paul said God reveals His wrath against all the “unrighteousness” (adikia) of men.

It is possible to “obey” adikia (Rom. 2:8. In Rom. 9:14 Paul said there is no adikia in God. Love does not rejoice in adikia (1 Cor. 13:6) and those who “name of name of the Lord” need to leave adikia alone (2 Tim. 2:19). God is merciful to man’s adikia (Heb. 8:12); if people will not repent, there is a “reward” for adikia (2 Pet. 2:13, KJV). The blood of Christ can cleanse those who become Christians from “all” adikia (1 Jn. 1:9).
