The Greek word alopex

Found just three times in the New Testament (Mt. 8:20; Lk. 9:58; 13:32), the Greek noun “alopex” described a “fox.”

Jesus said “foxes have holes” (Mt. 8:20; Lk. 9:58), but He had no place to “lay His head.” Jesus also used this term to describe Herod’s cunning and sly nature (Lk. 13:32).
