The Greek word anagnosis

Found just three times in the New Testament (Acts 13:15; 2 Cor. 3:14; 1 Tim. 4:13), the Greek noun “anagnosis” meant “reading.”  Those in the first century “read” from the law and the prophets (Acts 13:15).  In 2 Cor. 3:14 Paul specifically said some were reading from the Old Testament.  Timothy was to “give heed to reading” (1 Tim. 4:13).
