The Greek word anazao

Found only in the book of Luke (15:24, 32); Romans (7:9; 14:9), and in some manuscripts for Rev. 20:5, the Greek verb “anazao” meant “revive” or “live again.”

A father said his wayward son, who finally returned home, was “alive again” (Lk. 15:32).  A mother who had her son come back from the dead said he was “alive again” (Lk.1 5:24).  Paul spoke of how sin “revived” in his life in Rom. 7:9.  Jesus died, but He “lived again” (Rom. 14:9).
