The Greek word apokaradokia

Found just twice in the New Testament (Rom. 8:19; Phil. 1:20), the Greek noun “apokaradokia” meant “earnest expectation” or “intense desire.”  In Rom. 8:19 Paul spoke of how “creation” longs for the revealing of the sons of God.  Paul said he lived in a state of “eager expectation” (Phil. 1:20) regarding his future.
