The Greek word aporia

Found just once in the New Testament (Lk. 21:25), the Greek noun “aporia” meant “perplexity” or “distress.”

In His discussion about Jerusalem in 70 A.D. (see Lk. 21:20 where the Lord spoke about “armies surrounding Jerusalem) we learn how nations (people) faced great distress when Jerusalem was attacked.  The “roaring of the sea” mentioned in this verse, if compared to Isa. 17:12, graphically illustrates the chaos associated with this devastation.
