The Greek word “batos”

Found just five times in the New Testament (Mk. 12:26; Lk. 6:44; 20:37; Acts 7:30, 35), the Greek noun “batos” meant “bramble bush,” “thorn bush,” or “briar-shrub.”

God spoke to Moses from this type of bush (Mk. 12:26; Lk. 20:37; Acts 7:30, 35). In Lk. 6:44 Jesus pointed out how men do not gather figs from this type of bush.
