The Greek word “bebelos”

Found only in 1 Tim. 1:9; 4:7; 6:20; 2 Tim. 2:16; Heb. 12:16, the Greek adjective “bebelos” meant “profane” or “worldly.”

Paul used this word to say there is “profane” or “empty talk” (1 Tim. 4:7; 6:20; 2 Tim. 2:16). This word is also associated with those deeply involved with sin (1 Tim. 1:9; Heb. 12:16).
