The Greek word “biblos”

Found only in Mt. 1:1; Mk. 12:26; Lk. 3:4; 20:42; Acts 1:20; 7:42; 19:19; Phil. 4:3; Rev. 3:5; 13:8; 20:15, 19; 22:19, the Greek noun “biblos” meant “sacred writing,” “book,” “scroll.”

Matthew used this term to describe the “book of the generation of Jesus Christ” (Mt. 1:1). In Mk. 12:26 we read about the “book” of Moses. Luke spoke about the “book” of Isaiah (Lk. 3:4). David is associated with the “book” of Psalms (Acts 1:20). There is a “book” of life (Phil. 4:3; Rev. 3:5; 13:8; 20:15; 22:19).
