The Greek word “brosis”

Found eleven times in the New Testament (Mt. 6:19-20; Jn. 4:32; 6:27 [used twice in this verse]; Jn 6:55; Rom. 14:17; 1 Cor. 8:4; 2 Cor. 9:10; Col. 2:16; Heb. 12:16), the Greek noun “brosis” described “corrosion,” “eating,” and the “consumption of food.” In Jn. 6:27; 2 Cor. 9:10; Col. 2:16; Heb. 12:16, this word describes the consumption of food. Matthew (6:19-20) associated this word with earthly and heavenly treasure.
