The Greek word “deiknumi”

Found in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, First Corinthians, First Timothy, Hebrews, James and Revelation, the Greek verb “deiknumi” meant “prove,” “show,” “make known,” “teach.”

Satan “showed” Jesus the kingdoms of the world (Mt. 4:8).  Some Jews asked Jesus to “show” them a sign (Jn. 2:18).  Paul told the Corinthians he would “show” them a more excellent way (1 Cor. 12:31).  Moses was “shown” a pattern to follow for the tabernacle (Heb. 8:5).  John was “shown” some things by an angel (Rev. 22:8).
