The Greek preposition “dia”

Found more than 600 times in the New Testament, the Greek preposition “dia” has a wide range of meanings.  This preposition can mean “through,” “throughout,” “with,” “by,” “because of,” etc.

“Dia” may be used with the genitive (1 Pet. 3:20), instrumentally (2 Jn. 12), with the accusative, etc.  There are even “semitisms” with it (Mt. 9:11, Exegetical Dictionary of the New Testament, 1:296-297).
