The Greek word “dolos”

Limited to Mt. 26:4; Mk. 7:22; 14:1; Jn. 1:47; Acts 13:10; Rom. 1:29; 2 Cor. 12:16; 1 Thess. 2:3; 1 Pet. 2:1, 22; 3:10; Rev. 14:5, the Greek noun “dolos” meant “deceit,” “treachery,” “fraud,” “craftiness.”  This term is used to describe the plotting of Jesus’ death (Mt. 26:4; Mk. 14:1).  In verses like Mk. 7:22; Rom. 1:29; 1 Pet. 2:1, it describes extreme wickedness.
