The Greek word “brephos”

Mentioned a handful of times in the New Testament (Lk. 1:41, 44; 2:12, 16; 18:15; Acts 7:19; 2 Tim. 3:15; 1 Pet. 2:2), the Greek noun “brephos” meant “infant” or “unborn child.”

Luke, who was a doctor, applied this word to an unborn child in Lk. 1:41, 44, and these verses allow us to conclude the unborn are children. Stated another way, just seeing how and where this word is used in the book of Luke tells us abortion is murder.
