The Greek word “atomos”

Found just once in the New Testament (1 Cor. 15:52), the Greek adjective “atomos” meant “moment,” and it is the basis for our English word “atom.”

When the Lord returns it will take just a “moment” (the time involved will be so small it cannot be divided) for people to be changed into a state which is suitable for eternity. When the Lord returns, no one will have even a moment to prepare to meet Him. Jesus will literally come back as a “thief in the night.”
