The Greek verb “ἐκκλίνω”

Limited to Rom. 3:12; 16:17; 1 Pet. 3:11, the Greek verb “ekklino” meant “turn away from” or “turn aside.”

Peter commanded Christians to “avoid” evil and do good (1 Pet. 3:11).  Christians were told to “turn away from” false teachers (Rom. 16:17).  Sin causes people to “turn aside” (Rom. 3:12) from what is right.
