The Greek name Ananias

The Greek name “Ananias” is applied to three different men in the New Testament.  The first of these men was Sapphira’s husband (Acts 5:1, 3, 5).  The second was a Christian from Damascus who helped Saul become a Christian (Acts 9:10, 12-13, 17; 22:12).  The third describes a Jewish high priest who made charges against Paul (Acts 23:2; 24:1).
