The Greek adjective “ἐλεεινός”

Limited to 1 Cor. 15:19 and Rev. 3:17, the Greek adjective “eleeinos” meant “miserable” or “pitiable.”

If there is no future resurrection, Christians are the most “pitiable” people of all.  Christians at Laodicea had material wealth but were in a “miserable” spiritual state.
