The Greek verb “ἐκλείπω”

Limited to Lk. 16:9; 22:32; 23:45; Heb. 1:12, the Greek verb “ekleipo” meant “come to an end,” “cease,” “fail,” “die.”  Financial wealth eventually “fails” (Lk. 16:9).  Faith can “fail” (Lk. 22:32).  Some manuscripts have this term in Lk. 23:44-45; the sun “stopped” shining.  Jesus’ years do not “fail” or “come to an end” (Heb. 1:12).
