The Greek word “dianoigo”

Limited to Mk. 7:34-35; Lk. 2:23; 24:31-32, 45; Acts 7:56; 16:14; 17:3, the Greek verb “dianoigo” meant “open fully,” “expound,” “fully explain.”

In verses like Mk. 7:34-35, this word describes the “opening” of ears (restoration of hearing).  This verb describes the “opening” of minds (Lk. 24:45), hearts (Acts 16:14), and even the “womb” (Lk. 2:23).  In other texts such as Lk. 24:32; Acts 17:3 this term means “interpret” or “expound.”
