What is man?
Man: Who or what is man? The Bible teaches that man is “made in the image of God” (Gen. 1:26-27; 9:6) and God created both “males and females” (Gen. 1:27). Man is superior to animals (Gen. 2:20) because only he has been created in God’s image and because only he has an eternal spirit. God set men over the creation “over all the earth” (Gen. 1:26) and God willed that human beings scatter to various parts of the earth (Gen. 1:28; 9:1). Man can live for many years, but he is eventually subject to death (Heb. 9:27) and God will one day raise him up for a day of judgment (2 Cor. 5:10).
As a human being you have an eternal spirit. As of this moment you are either in a right relationship with God or you are not. Be sure you have become a New Testament Christian and are living as the Bible describes.
